In 1883, Rudolf von Salis-Muralt commis - sioned the celebrated architect Nicolaus Hartmann to convert this farmhouse, built in 1590, into a magnificent patrician villa.

Since 1982 the Chesa Salis has been an atmo spheric hotel, its metre-thick walls still evoking an aristocratic grandeur.
